Today’s BOOTHCAST is with Australian Champion Kayaker Joel Simpson and is brought to you by BOOTH Training.
Joel comes to us from Singapore where he now lives and we have some interesting discussions on the importance of diversifying in sport when you are younger and different techniques like breathing training. He started kayaking at school with John Newton and has a multiude of Australian medals in both Kayak and SLS. After focusing on studying to get a degree in Sports Science he started paddling seriously in 2009 and had a crack to make the 2012 London Games. Unfortunately for him he wasnt able to acheive his goal and we speak about how he dealt with that mentally. He gives some good advice around learning from his mistakes and commiting wholing to your goal without a safety net. We also speak about his various business interests, how important it is to pivot when times are tough and whats next for him. Thanks Joel for your time!
