Michael Booth will enter his first stop of European SUP tour for 2018, competing in Agios Nikolaos on the island of Crete, Greece this Sunday 27th May.

Booth will race in the headline event; a 15km ‘elite’ paddle from Agios Panteleimonas Beach and finishing in Agios Nikolaos lagoon.

After a quiet month resetting back home in Perth, Western Australia, Booth travelled 27 hours to Greece to pick up the European Tour at stop four, where he will now spend the next six weeks travelling across Europe, culminating with the London SUP Open on the first weekend of July.

“It was great to have some down time to catch up on some rest, but I’m ready to take on the next six weeks now and I feel extremely grateful to be back in Europe”.

Booth is coming off the back of competing in the Twelve Towers, Air France Paddle Festival and the Carolina Cup and as defending champion of the 2017 European SUP Tour, he hopes to see some great results continue to follow through again this year.

“I was stoked to get the win in Carolina, that has certainly given me a bit of a confidence boost. I’m really looking forward to racing against the worlds best over the next couple of months.” Booth said.

The European Tour sees the best SUP paddlers from all over the world meeting to compete in the most scenic locations across Europe, during the best time of the year – summer.

Michael will also be running a training workshop in Crete post event on Monday 28th May, entailing an insight into his training, technique and race strategies. For those interested, bookings can be made for the program online via his personal website or Eventbrite.

“I’m super excited to bring my training programs to Europe with me this year. I have been working hard on them in Australia for some time now and can’t wait to encourage paddlers from all over the world perform to the best of their ability”.

Following on from Agios Nikolaos will be stop five of the European Tour – the Costa Blanca Games, held in Spain on the 2nd and 3rd June.
