Booth feeling refreshed heading into last stop of Eurotour in Germany

Michael Booth is on the verge of taking out the 2018 European Tour for the second year running, with just one race left in the bag and a top 10 finish in the Mercedes Benz World Cup all but stopping him from achieving his goal.  

With an almost faultless performance to date, Booth is determined to finish his Euro Tour with another win, with his final stop being #9 of the tour, this Sunday in Scharbeutz, Germany. 

“It’s going to be another strong field this weekend, but having last weekend off really helped ease the pressure. I’m feeling well rested and refreshed heading into the race on Sunday”. 

The Mercedes Benz World Cup will see the best paddlers from all over the world competing, pushing each other to the max as they battle it out across the long course for the biggest prize money of the tour. 

It’s been an incredible summer for Boothy, taking out some major titles in his finest form and racing against the best from all over the world. 

“I can’t complain about much right now… I feel lucky to race in such amazing locations all over Europe and against my mates who are my strongest competition, Booth said. 

“It certainly has been a great year for me so far, and I just hope I can finish with another win, leading me to bringing home my 2nd European championship”. 

Boothy remains confident in putting his fine racing form down to a more relaxed approach this year, however there’s no hiding that he’s feeling a little bit of pressure as he heads into his final race this weekend. 

“Of course, I am nervous! I feel fire in my belly, but that’s simply because it means so much to me. I love what I do and I want nothing more than to be the best I can be in everything I do”. 

“The racing this year has been some of the best I have ever seen, with every year comes new competition as well as those names you know that just keep improving”. 

With the Molokai to Oahu Hawaiian Contest on his mind too, Booth said he has been working on clocking up some km’s in his “rest week” to prepare both his mind and body for another tough race in the coming weeks. 

“There’s plenty to look forward to coming up, but for now I have one race to focus on… and that’s the Mercedes Benz”.
