Cory was born in Gisborne, spent his childhood idolising Cory Hutchings, moved to Australia in his early 20’s to chase his Ironman dream and hasn’t looked back. He is a professional Surf Ironman series competitor, has won 2 events and his best overall ranking has been a 4th, he has won the National teams World Championship twice with the NZ Blackfinz and has had a lot of success in the water. We speak about his journey from kid to adult, loving the ocean, paddling ocean skis, going from ‘Porky’ to not porky within the spate of a week, competing in any sport he could get his hands on, becoming a more mature racer, his stinky motivation to win the U/16 Ironman crown, studying finance, and a bunch of key moments throughout his career.
